Step-by-Step Instruction:

For Data in Columns:

  1. Paste the data into cell A1 of Google Sheets so the x-values are in column A and the y-values are in column B.
  2. Select all of the data (including any column headers that are present), click the Insert menu option, and select Chart… to create a chart from the selected data. Google Sheets will automatically choose a chart it thinks will display the data properly; if this is not a scatter plot, open the “Chart type” drop-down menu in the DATA tab of the Chart editor and select the Scatter chart option.
