Single Item Due Date Changes
To change both the available dates and the due dates of assignments or assessments (quizzes or tests) navigate to the Course you'd like to make edits in and click Manage. To edit the due date of a single item, click the three dots to the right of it and select Edit. Make your change under Available Date or Due Date and click Save Changes.
You can also change dates within an individual Section. To do this, access your Section and then follow the same path: choose Manage, then the three dots and Edit next to the item on which you want to change dates.
How do changes at the course level affect the section level?
Changes to dates made at the course level are reflected on the same item at the section level. However, if you edit a date on an item at the section level, any subsequent changes to the date made at the course level will not override that section level change. Changing dates at the section level means that the item is no longer connected to edits made to the same item at the course level.
Bulk Due Date Changes
To edit the dates of multiple items, click Manage, check the boxes next to the items you’d like to change the dates of, and click either Edit Start Date or Edit End Date. In the calendar, choose the new date and then click OK.
Your change will automatically be saved. If you’re using an LMS, you will also need to make this change in your LMS to reflect the new due date in the LMS course, however, the students’ grades will be automatically reflected in the LMS gradebook at the new due date. This also applies if the new due date has passed, wherein the new grades will be retroactively updated.
You can also do this in the Section Outline:
Access your Section and then follow the same path: choose Manage, check the boxes next to the items you’d like to change the dates of, and click either Edit Start Date or Edit End Date. In the calendar, choose the new date and then click OK.
