Students will be able to see their results to varying degrees depending on which setting the instructor enabled when creating the assessment. The following settings for what students can see are available:

This setting will decide what displays to the student after completion of one or more attempts.

Grade only= only the score (answers themselves do not display until after all due dates and extensions have passed).
Grades + correct/incorrect answers= the score and what the student got right or wrong (answers themselves do not display until after all due dates and extensions have passed).
Grades + correct/incorrect answers + answer explanations= this will display everything before the due date and after completion or each attempt: the score, what they got right and wrong and the answers. This is only recommended for low-stakes assessments or practice assessments.

Students are able to see results for their assessments (quizzes and tests) by clicking on the assessment and looking in the top header. Their score will immediately be visible after an attempt.

Depending on the setting chosen by the instructor, students may also be able to see whether each answer is right or wrong, followed by an explanation, by clicking the View Results button.

After the due date (and all extensions) have passed, View Results is always available to all students who complete at least one attempt. At that time, students will be able to see the answers and answer explanations.

If you allow late completion on assessments in your course settings overall, the due date has passed, and a student has leftover attempts (in a multiple attempt enabled assessment), then the student will be prompted to either 'Try Again' or 'View Results.' Since View Results will display the answers, they will be asked if they choose to forfeit their remaining assessment attempts. Students will always be able to see their attempt scores to help make a decision on further attempts.
