For students with physical disabilities who prefer to use a keyboard as an alternative to a mouse, alta supports keyboard only usage to visit most links, buttons, and form controls in our product.

For the visually impaired, alta offers support for screen magnification tools, contrast-enhancing accessibility tooling, alternative text, as well as long descriptions for all static images in our product that serve a pedagogical purpose. Our integration with Desmos also makes graphing questions accessible. By providing features like audio traces and keyboard navigation, all users have the ability to interact and access our content. 

For the hearing impaired, alta offers closed captioning on all instructional videos in our product that serve a pedagogical purpose. Alta also provides descriptive transcripts for all instructional videos.

To meet contrast guidelines, alta presents all applicable text and images of text at an appropriate ratio (e.g. 4.5:1 or more, 3:1 for large text), which improves readability.

For users who have visual or perceptual disabilities, alta supports magnification tools. Commonly used third-party screen magnifiers that can improve the visual readability of rendered text and images are compatible with our product using the Chrome browser (additional browser support is underway).
